Another great abbreviation we have in Japanese is used for New Year’s.

Traditionally, we say “akemashite omedetou gozaimasu” but that is a literal mouthful.

So again, we take the first 2 syllables of the most important words and mash them together! AKE + OME = Akeome! A cute, casual and easy to remember new year’s greeting for your winter travel in Ito! See you soon!
