AKAZAWA COAST
Located south of downtown Ito, Akazawa Coast has a lovely beach that feels private and still maintains that quaint smalltown feel that the city is famous for.
If you’re looking to slow things down and enjoy a relaxing beach day without the crowds, head to the Akazawa area for swimming, seafood dining, hot spring bathing and of course, world-class diving.
As it’s quite a no-frills beach, I’d definitely recommend bringing everything you’ll need for the day with you like snacks, drinks, towels, folding chairs, etc. Most of the more popular beaches in Japan are always lined with stalls selling all sorts of food, umbrella rentals, showering facilities so those who are used to the VIP treatment might be shocked when enjoying the more natural, #nofilter approach that Akazawa is known for.
Access: 10 minutes from Izukogen station by car or taxi.
Parking is available on the left and right of the entrance.
Parking is 1000 yen a day during summer.
Address: Akazawa Ito City Shizuoka Prefecture 413-0233
